Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley have been charged to write the reboot/update of the Vacation film franchise says Variety.The film would focus on a now adult Rusty Griswold--played by multiple actors over the years by Anthony Michael Hall ("Vacation"), Jason Lively ("European Vacation"), Johnny Galecki ("Christmas Vacation"), Ethan Embry ("Vegas Vacation")--, who sets out on a road trip with his wife and kids to the soon to be demolished Wally World.
Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo would reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold the film said to be more in the vein of Planes, Trains & Automobiles style tone than the cruder ways of the various sequels.
"Wedding Crashers" helmer David Dobkin will be producing the comedy.
