Newbie Bits

-Evangelion: 2.0 should have between 70-100 screens for its theatrical release according to ANN. A DVD & Blu-ray release in the U.S. is scheduled for March 29th next year.

-The story behind the making of Pink Floyd's life changing rock opera album The Wall will be told in a film adaptation reports MOG-Once Roger Waters lets the rights go


-Stephen Dorff is working on an idea for a script in which he would team up again with his Blood and Wine co-star, Jack Nicholson reports The Independent. Dorff says "It's a very funny comedy idea for me and him set in the South of France. We're not in script form yet but I wrote the treatment and they've already bought it so as soon as I get a break from working, I'll turn that into a script and I'll go and tell Jack."

-Angela Bassett has joined McG's comedy-thriller "This Means War"according to Variety. The flick follows two best friends and veteran spies (Chris Pine, Tom Hardy) who fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon) who has moved into their spare room. They end up fighting for her affections using their black-ops warfare tactics, a fight which literally demolishes much of New York City along the way.Bassett will play the boss to both spies who has dedicated her entire life to the spy business and has no life outside the CIA.Timothy Dowling and Burr Steers penned the script while Will Smith, Simon Kinberg, Robert Simonds and James Lassiter are producing. Filming is currently underway in New York City

-Carey Mulligan and James Badge Dale are circling to perhaps co-star with Michael Fassbender in  Steve McQueen’s new drama Shame reports The Irish Film and Television Network.

-NJ gal Kirsten Dunst will join Chloe Moretz in Derick Martini’s coming-of-age drama Hick according to The Playlist.

-Liam Neeson is attached to star in the dark indie drama "An Ordinary Man" that Brad Silberling ("Land of the Lost") will direct says Variety. Neeson would play a fugitive war criminal based loosely on Slobodan Milošević , who is in hiding and protected by his supporters in order to avoid being arrested and put on trial for war crimes.

-Singer-actress Mary J Blige is in talks to star in the film adaptation of 2006 musical Rock of Ages  reports Vulture.

-Zombieland 2 co-writer Rhett Reese--via Twitter--has shot down reports that Harrison Ford & Anthony Hopkins will be appearing in the upcoming sequel in cameos.
