Bee Buzz

Another film from my childhood is going to be remade...

Producers Roy Lee and Steven Schneider will direct a remake of the 1978 nature goes wrong flick "The Swarm" says The Wrap.

Based on sei-fi author Arthur Herzog's 1975 novel, and directed by disaster king, Irwin Allen the original pic follows the residents of a Texas town who fight to survive after a massive swarm of killer bees descend upon them.

A critical and financial flop despite starring heavy weights Michael Caine Olivia de Havilland Henry Fonda,Richard Chamberlain, Katharine Ross, Lee Grant and Richard Widmark the film became a cult classic on video.

Frequent commercials director  Ash Bolland is poised to direct, with no writer currently attached. No word as yet if the remake will stick closer to either the earlier film or the original book.

Growing up I liked the '78 pic a lot that also included a great score from Jerry Goldsmith
