Footage Erased

Roland Emmerich's found footage flick--ala The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity Cloverfield and Super 8--The Zone shuts down says The Hollywood Reporter 

The pic was to have starred Peter Mackenzie and Brandon Scott as a journalist and cameraman caught up in an alien invasion. 

There is no explanation regarding the cancellation.

The director's camp simply releases a comment saying, "This is not a project (Emmerich) is pursuing at this time."

Shooting was due to start next week on the $6 million pic
