Holiday Movie Morsels...

Garcia Bernal

-Gael García Bernal will star in "Hands of Stone", a biopic about champion lightweight boxer Roberto Duran reports The Wrap. The Panamanian is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time with a professional record of 119 fights, 103 wins with 70 KOs. He defeated then Olympic champion "Sugar" Ray Leonard in a fight in 1980 dubbed "The Brawl in Montreal", but in a rematch later that year Durán gave up into the eighth round of the fight and famously said "No Mas" as he turned his back on Leonard. Al Pacino may play the role of trainer Ray Arcel in the film. Jonathan Jakubowicz penned the script, is directing and will produce alongside Ben Silverman. No production schedule is set

-The long-gestating adaptation of Australian novelist Matthew Reilly's young adult novel series "Hover Car Racer - Matthew Reilly" is revving up again  with commercials director Fredrik Bond  top choice to direct reports The Los Angeles Times.

-Out stumping to promote Faster, Billy Bob Thornton told Collider that he'd be up for doing a sequel to the 2003 pitch black comedy Bad Santa

-Underworld 4 is subbed New Dawn, synopsis also revealed via Bloody Disgusting 

-Swiss filmmaker Ben Hibon will direct Pan, a gritty contemporary adaptation of J. M. Barrie's classic Peter Pan says Variety. In this incarnation, Captain Hook is a burned out ex-police detective trying to track down a kidnapper whom witnesses describe as being childlike. Hibon, who directed the animated shadow sequence explaining the legend behind "The Deathly Hallows", helms from a script by Ben Magid. The script was previously picked up back in 2006 by New Line and at one time had Guillermo del Toro attached to direct. Shooting aims to kick off next Fall in Europe.

-Disturbia director D.J. Caruso;says there's no plans for a film based on cable series The Shield. (where he earned his chops), the film adaptation of video game Dead Space is still very much stuck in scripting, and confirmed he's no longer involved in adapting the comic Y: The Last Man


Ghostbuster Babe?

-Bill Hader Will Forte and Anna Faris may all join the cast of Ghostbusters III

-Michael J Bassett ("Solomon Kane") will direct the psychological thriller "Saint Mary's" according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story revolves around a group of young people trapped inside a mental institution where a supernatural presence manifests their worst nightmares. Matthew Kingshott wrote the script. Bassett will probably begin work on the project once he wraps on on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D...
