Beginning Of The Work Week Film Bits

-A film version of Rebecca Serle's debut novel "Rosaline" is in the works reports Deadline. A contemporary high school-set take on "Romeo and Juliet"--takes the point of view of Rosaline, Romeo's jilted ex-girlfriend.

-Commercial director Fredrik Bond has signed on to direct a new sci-fi film called Year 12, which if being produced by Joe Roth (Alice In Wonderland, Tears of the Sun) says The Wrap.Currently without a distributor,. Set in Manhattan twelve years after aliens successfully invaded and took over the Earth. The story follows an underwater uranium miner who is recruited by the human resistance to smuggle uranium in his blood so they can use it to blow up the alien mother ship.

-Angela Lansbury is set to play the daughter of 31-year-old Katherine Heigl in "Adaline" says Deadline.The story follows a young woman (Heigl) killed and then revived in a freak accident that physiologically locks her into her late 20's. After decades of living a solitary existence, she finally meets a man who might be worth losing her immortality over so they can grow old together. Lansbury will play the eighty-something daughter of Heigl's character who needs her mother's care as her health declines.

-Acclaimed commercials and shorts director Carl Rinsch is no longer attached to direct the long-gestating remake of Logan's Run says Heat Vision. He will helm the 2012 pic  47 Ronin instead starring Keanu Reeves

-"The Departed" scribe William Monahan will pen and direct a new film adaptation of Jean Anouilh's 1959 French play "Becket" reports Deadline.

-Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has a cameo in  The Hangover Part II Clinton already flew to Bangkok, Thailand to shoot his scene this past Saturday as well as being on set. Photos of Clinton on location are already up at TMZ.


-Director  Darren Aronofsky tells HitFix that the official title of  X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 will now be Wolverine Aronofsky calls the film a "one-off" which "isn't a sequel in any conventional sense". There's no overt links to the previous "X-Men" films or  'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. DOP Matthew Libatique ("Iron Man) is on board. Shooting on the film kicks off in March

-, J.J. Abrams is still not signed on to direct Star Trek 2 reports Digital Spy But a decision about who will direct the pic will be made shortly, Studio suit Tom Dooley says he would like Abrams to return. Pre-production kicks off in January with the script being delivered around Christmas.



-Luis Guzmán will play the father of Vanessa Hudgens character in the currently shooting  Journey 2: The Mysterious Island reports Heat Vision. Hudgens plays a Pacific Islander who gets swept into the adventure. Guzman's father character is a boatman hired by , Josh Hutcherson and, Dwayne Johnson in the pic.

-Martin Freeman talked to TheOneRing.net recently about his prep work and casting in The Hobbit: Part 1 and The Hobbit: Part 2 .

-Rachel McAdams tells MTV News that she's unsure yet if she will appear in the currently shooting Sherlock Holmes Sequel

-Easy A director/producer Will Gluck and star Emma Stone will reunite for a new comedy reports Deadline. Gluck will write direct and produce, while Stone will star and executive produce. Story details are still being worked on. Production aims to kick off next summer.

-Swedish directors Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein have been hired to direct Underworld 4 reports Heat VisionKate Beckinsale will return as vampire Selene. No further plot details are known. First penned by John Hlavin and revised by J. Michael Straczynski, Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi and Len Wiseman are producing. Filming kicks off in March in Vancouver
