The man who directed the BEST Star Wars movie--Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back has died...
Irvin Kershner was 87..
Kershner made contributions to other franchises as well, directing RoboCop 2 and Sean Connery's last appearance as James Bond in the 'unofficial' 007 flick, Never Say Never Again.
Having fought in World War II Kershner began his career by teaching film at the University of Southern California but quickly made the move behind the camera as a stills photographer and TV director with Stakeout On Dope Street in 1958.
And then there's the under appreciated thriller Eyes of Laura Mars and S*P*Y*S
He also helmed a segment of TV's Amazing Stories and SeaQuest 2032
Kershner’s exact cause of death is not yet known, but sources say he was battling a long fought illness--according to The Associated Press.
Man This Sucks....
