French actor Gilles Lellouche.told Canal+ (via Cinema Teaser & The Playlist) that he's been cast in the already filming "Sherlock Holmes 2"
Lellouche found out on Wednesday that he was cast though no word was given as yet on what his role is aside from the fact that it's a minor villain role (though there's speculation his role is that of 'The Swede').
The film sees Holmes, Watson (Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law) and a French gypsy (Noomi Rapace) on a cross-continent journey during which they'll encounter Sherlock's brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry) --And match wits with their arch-nemesis, the criminal genius Moriarty (Jared Harris).
The production is about to move its crew to Paris and Strasbourg for filming. Several days of shooting take place around Notre Dame Cathedral, though Downey Jr. and Law will not be on hand for that.
Guy Ritchie helms the new adventure due in theaters everywhere on December 16th, 2011.
