Bond Is Rescued?

Bloomberg is reporting that even as Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer continues to climb out of a very deep ditch--the studio hopes to have James Bond back in theaters by 2012

The plan is for Bond 23 to be produced with a partner who would contribute all of the filmmaking costs in return for half of the rights. After that, MGM will be in a position to wholly fund and therefore own the franchise again.

Whether the plan works or director, Sam Mendes, is still on board to helm a script that was to be written by Peter Morgan remains to be seen...
