-Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rachel McAdams have made the short list for the female lead role in Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo" reports Deadline.

-Jon Kasdan ("In the Land of Women") will helm the teen romance The First Time, says Risky Biz Blog. The story focuses on the first weekend in the relationship between a boy and a girl in high school.

--Rebecca Hall seems to be the frontrunner r to play Daisy in Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel "The Great Gatsby" says Deadline. Luhrmann will audition a gaggle of actresses before making a decision.Keira Knightley, Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson all making his roster.

--Amber Heard will play a staker the thriller "The Applicant" says Screen Daily. She underage prep school senior obsessed about getting into Yale University. So much so that , she ends up seducing and ruining the life of an admissions director with connections to a top Yale professor. Eric Bross will direct from a script by Jeff Rothberg and Francis X. McCarthy.

-- James Nesbitt ("Jekyll," "Bloody Sunday") and newcomer Adam Brown have officially joined Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: Part 1 and Part 2 as the dwarves Bofur and Ori respectively says The One Ring.

-Joel Edgerton will star opposite Jennifer Garner in Peter Hedges' fantasy fable  The Odd Life of Timothy Green says Heat Vision.

--Sam Elliott says no-one has been in touch with him about the role of J. Jonah Jameson in the upcoming Spider-Man Reboot  according to Zap2it Elliott was a candidate last week

-Jamie Chung joins The Hangover 2. Chung will play the new fiancee of Ed Helms character Stu says THR Me likey that!...Meantime Zach Galifianakis claims to MTV he is not to blame for the decision to nix Mel Gibson's cameo appearance in The Hangover sequel. He says "I do not consult on the movies that I’m in. I just show up and I say my lines, usually terribly, and I do consult on dialogue.
