Leary has been cast as police Captain George Stacy, Gwen Stacy’s (Emma Stone) father.

Captain Stacy was played in 2007's Spider-Man 3 by James Cromwell.
The script penned by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent sees the wall crawler (Andrew Garfield) take on the Lizard
Leary joins already cast members Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
Zooey Deschanel is in talks to play Betty Brant.
Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Laura Ziskin will produce.
Production is set to start in December, with a release date set for July 3, 2012.
