Catherine Hardwicke is perhaps best known for directing the first film in The Twilight Saga, a good thing or a bad thing depending on your take. Now she’s aiming to be a bit more scandalous by helming an adaptation of The Bitch Posse for Ambush Entertainment.
The 2006 novel by Martha O’Connor centers on three girls– Amy, Cherry, and Rennie – who come together as “the Bitch Posse” in their senior year of high school. The book accounts for a devastating event that breaks the friendship up and follows them into their tumultuous adulthoods.
Deadline Hollywood points out Hardwicke’s “flair for teen angst” in relation to this particular project.
