We knew that there would be a sequel to Monsters, but now we’ve finally got some details.
Bleeding Cool reports that the film will feature the same world as Monsters but that it’s an entirely new story focusing on two brothers. This sequel, which could very well be filmed in Argentina, boasts a budget of less than $5 million but still much more than what was spent on the original.
Directors of the short Now and Nowhere, Jesse Atlas and Brent Bonacorso, are attached to helm this sequel; Gareth Edwards helmed the original feature that hit theaters last year to rave response and several prominent awards and nominations, including a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding Debut.
Production for this sequel aims to begin in September.
