Butterfinger® the candy bar, is getting into the movie making business. In a press release , manufacturer Nestlé will finance and produce a 25-minute horror comedy short film called "Butterfinger the 13th".
Actor/producer Rob Lowe is going to direct the the short, described as a "psychological thriller that will leave you laughing". The film already has a Facebook page and teaser trailer.
The film will premiere October 13th.
I'm intrigued to see whether or not this works as a marketing tool...Beyond that Lowe's sense of humor should serve the film well.
If successful expect other candy films to follow....I'm thinking "Twizzler--A Twisted Tale Of Love, Sex And Murder"--Who's with me?
