This casting comes as Harrison Ford has officially signed on to play Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey in the film Various other actors have been linked to play Rickey, including Robert Redford.
The film will chronicle how Rickey and Robinson broke baseball's color barrier in 1947. Helgeland will direct from the script he wrote--after gaining the trust of Robinson's family...
So glad this moving ahead! I guess Ford's involvement here means that Gavin Hood's sci-fi thriller "Ender's Game" is out for him.
