Twitchfilm says Clive Owen and Mia Wasikowska have been offered the role of the villain and the female lead respectively in Spike Lee’s upcoming "Oldboy" remake.
Chan-wook Park's original 2003 thriller followed a man seeking revenge against those who kept him in confinement for over 15 years.
Josh Brolin stars in the lead.
If Owen accepts the role, that Colin Firth was offered but passed on, it would reunite him with Lee following 2006's acclaimed "Inside Man".
Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland," "The Kids Are All Right") would play Marie--a part Rooney Mara had been previously linked to.
Mark Protosevich wrote the adapted script.
Doug Davison and Roy Lee will produce.
There's still no word as yet on when shooting will kick off.
