Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's 2004 novel "All You Need Is Kill ", the story follows a new recruit sent out to fight off an alien invasion and finding himself dying on the battlefield and being reborn each day. Five months into this cycle though, he notices something different than the previous versions - a female soldier who may be the key to his escape.
Dante Harper wrote the adapted script which Joby Harold has re-written.
Scheduling issues are still being worked out. Cruise, is currently shooting Christopher McQuarrie's "One Shot", and will likely film the project after he stars in Joseph Kosinski's sci-fi epic "Oblivion"
