Lincoln Lawyer Sequel Starts Up

Lionsgate is keen on a feature film sequel to The Lincoln Lawyer says Variety.

The original pic iased on the novel by Michael Connelly, the story follows Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of his career: defending Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), a Beverly Hills playboy accused of rape and attempted murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.

Lionsgate suit Michael Burns told CNBC that "'The Lincoln Lawyer' was a very successful movie for us, and we're developing [a TV Series] ...with ABC. We're going to do a sequel on 'Lincoln Lawyer' as well."

Screenwriter John Romano and Connelly are writing the pilot--There's no word on who will write the film sequel.
