George Clooney and Grant Heslov want to make a film about 60's comedy duo the Smothers Brothers says Deadline.
Based on David Bianculli's book "Dangerously Funny", the story follows the two brothers who famously squabbled both off screen and on air during their late 60's series The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. At first the show was quite soft, the pair became counterculture troublemakers which introduced liberal politics into the mainstream--catching the ire of President Richard M. Nixon.
It's not ye clear if Clooney will star or direct the film.
Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman are writing the adapted script
Clooney and Heslov ("The Ides of March") will produce.
