Warner Bros. paid almost $2 million bucks for the film rights to Seth Grahame-Smith's upcoming April 2012 book Unholy Night says Heat Vision.
The tale reimagines the birth of Jesus as an adventure story centered on the three kings from the Nativity who travel to Bethlehem to witness his birth. In this version, the three kings are thieves on the run who are forced to help Mary and Jesus escape to Egypt, battling magical biblical creatures and encountering famous figures like Pontius Pilate and John the Baptist.
The author will write the adapted script
Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford will produce the flick.
Grahame-Smith's satires Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies are being film adapted as well
