Boys And Instruments Films Sacked By Sony

Sony Pictures has cancelled plans for both an adaptation of Garth Ennis' comic book The Boys and the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare's supernatural novel series The Mortal Instruments says Heat Vision.

Adam McKay was writing the screenplay and hoping to direct 'Boys' about government types that monitor the reckless behavior of superheroes. With a costly $100 million budget and very R-rated

Mortal follows Fray (Lily Collins) who has "The Sight" and can see both demons and Shadowhunters. When Clary's mother is abducted, she is forced to learn about her bloodline and abilities in order to get her mother back. Jamie Campbell Bower had been cast as Jace Wayland, one of the best Shadowhunters--A role that Alex Pettyfer was in talks for at one point

Scott Charles Stewart was gonna direct and remains committed to making the film but will need to find further financing.
