Chloe Moretz and Rupert Grint have joined Randall Miller's indie biopic "The Drummer," reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The script written by Jody Savin details the last six years of The Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson's (Aaron Eckhart) life, prior to his death in 1983.
Moretz is poised to play Wilson's daughter Jennifer while Grint will play Stan Shapiro, a mail room intern at William Morris who befriended Wilson during the last years of the musician's life.
Vera Farmiga ("The Departed," "Up in the Air") will play singer-songwriter and "Fleetwood Mac" member Christine McVie. Wilson and McVie had a passionate relationship, becoming each other's muses and confidantes
Eckhart serves as executive producer on the film and will record his own renditions of some of Wilson's songs. Farmiga will use her classical piano training in the production and will sing in a number of duets with Eckhart
The real Jennifer Wilson is co-producing the film with her half-brother Carl and Savin.
Filming kicks off June 15th.
