A then unknown Jennifer Aniston starred in the original 1993 film about an evil, sadistic Leprechaun (Warwick Davis) who goes on a killing rampage in search of his beloved pot of gold. The film spawned a five sequels, most of which were released as direct-to-video fare .
No writer, director or cast is attached to the reboot yet but a 2013 release is planned.
The film is the first in a two-picture deal between the companies, the other picture has yet to be determined.
