Justin Lin is in negotiations to direct real life drama "L.A. Riots" says Vulture.
The pic charts the infamous 1992 Los Angeles riots that occurred twenty years ago after four LAPD officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. The ensuing violence left 53 killed and over $1 billion in property damage.
Spike Lee had been attached to direct from John Ridley's script--it's uknown that time will be used or if Lin will be starting anew.
Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will produce the film. Lin is currently working on "The Fast and the Furious 6".
