Bond Turns 50: Adele Sings Skyfall

Celebrating James Bond's 50th Anniversary today as a film franchise.

The title track from the 23rd film in the series Skyfall--sung by Adele is just great! For me it recalls the first time I saw the the opening to 1964's Goldfinger and heard Shirley Bassey belt out those great lyrics.

The Skyfall tune is softer...more sultry if you please than Goldfinger, but it literally is the BEST Bond song in years!

Daniel Craig Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Judi Dench, Simon Russell Beale, Rhys Ifans, Helen McCrory Ben Whishaw Tonia Sotiropoulou and Rory Kinnear star.

In the latest adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time--Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Sam Mendes directs from a script by Patrick Marber John Logan Neal Purvis and Robert Wade

Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are producing the film.

Here's Craig in action from Skyfall...

The sequel arrives in theaters on November 9, 2012.

Meanwhile, I'm working my way through "Bond 50"--the mega-set that brings together all twenty-two official Bond films on Blu-ray including nine that have not been previously released individually There's approximately 122 hours of in-depth bonus features, the full list of which can be found at Blu-ray.com. I'm still in the  Sean Connery era--the set is great! The films really pop on Blu. A must have for any Bond fan!
