Topher Grace, Anthony Mackie, Aubrey Plaza, Giovanni Ribisi and Philip Baker Hall are all in various stages of talks to join the indie anti-romantic comedy "A Many Splintered Thing" says Variety.
The story follows a young man (Chris Evans) disillusioned by love who meets a breathtaking but engaged young woman (Michelle Monaghan) at a charity dinner where he is pretending to be a philanthropist. Spurred on by his eclectic group of friends, he feigns a platonic relationship in order to keep seeing her as he tries to conquer her heart.
Grace will play Evans' best friend. There's no word on what roles the other folks will play.
Chris Shafer & Paul Vicknair penned the script which made the Black List and was a finalist in the 2011 Nicholl Fellowships
Justin Reardon is set to helm
Nicolas Chartier, Craig J. Flores, McG and Mary Viola will produce.
Production kicks off on October 26th.
