Former "The Walking Dead" show runner and "The Shield" producer Glen Mazzara is is in talks to pen the screenplay "Overlook Hotel" says Heat Vision.
The project is a prequel to author Stephen King's classic novel "The Shining". The story explores what transpired at said hotel long before writer Jack Torrance brought his family there and went a bit nutty.
"Shutter Island" writer Laeta Kalogridis along with partners Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt would produce the film
The original book has been adapted twice for the screen--first by Stanley Kubrick and then as a TV Mini-Series in 1997.
The film marks Mazzara's first job since he left the popular zombie TV series.
