A film based upon of author Richard C. Morais' book--the story follows the rivalry between a three-Michelin-star restaurant in France, and the Indian restaurant that resides just a hundred feet away. The French restaurant is run by eccentric chef Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), who reluctantly forms a mentoring bond with a young Indian boy whose family owns the rival restaurant.
Manish Dayal also stars.
Lasse Hallstrom helms the film from an adapted script by Steve Knight.
Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake will produce the pic.
Production begins September in France and India ahead of an August 2014 release
