Expendables 3: Sly on Gibson & Banderas Added--Ford Wit

Sylvester Stallone has now finally confirmed to EW that "Lethal Weapon" star Mel Gibson is in The Expendables 3.

At the same time he announced that his "Assassins" co-star Antonio Banderas  is also on board.

Meanwhile Harrison Ford made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" recently to promote Friday's Paranoia. Kimmel asked Ford if he'd seen the first two "Expendables" flicks--he responded "Why would I do that?". When Kimmel offered to explain the story thus far, Ford said "I really don't care."

Ford has a unique sense of humor....

Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Kellan Lutz Milla Jovovich Mixed Martial Arts fighter Ronda Rousey and welterweight boxer Victor Ortiz are all set to join the film. Thankfully Nicolas Cage ended speculation that he might show up and ruin the movie.

Also on producer Avi Lerner's initial wish-list was Clint Eastwood.

Stallone and most of his pals from the last two flicks in the series will be back in the line up.

The movie will be directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) from a script by Richard Wenk. It's scheduled to start production in August.

The movie is slated to open August 15th 2014.

There's also an all-female riff on the premise in the works as well Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica")  and former MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano ("Haywire") are set to star.
