Lenny Abrahamson ("What Richard Did," "Garage") will direct the film adaptation of author Emma Donoghue's worldwide bestselling novel "Room" Screen Daily.
The story follows Jack, a five-year-old growing up somewhere in America in an 11-by-11-foot shed he believes to be the whole world. What he is unaware of is that his devoted young mother has shielded him from the truth - the pair of them are captives.
Donoghue is writing the adapted script.
Ed Guiney ("The Guard," "Shadow Dancer") will produce the pic.
Abrahamson's is currently in post-production "Frank", a comedy drama starring Michael Fassbender and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
