Strong Plays "The Imitation Game" Wth Cumby

Mark Strong will join the long-awaited biopic "The Imitation Game" says We Got This Covered.

The film deals with Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist, criminally prosecuted and chemically castrated homosexual, and tortured soul who committed suicide by eating a cyanide-laced apple. Turing was highly influential in the founding of computer science and artificial intelligence, along with devising techniques for breaking German ciphers during the Second World War. He was also one of the earliest to explore the biological process of morphogenesis.

There are no details available on his role that Strong will play. Strong worked with Cumby on the 2011 version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Downton Abbey star Allen Leech plays a Scottish spy who worked with the Soviets to plot against Turing.

Keira Knightley also stars.

Graham Moore’s script is based on the biography by Andrew Hodges.

Teddy Schwarzman, Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will produce.

Throughout it's history J Blakeson became attached to direct....after Ron Howard who was reportedly interested in directing the film in 2011 and wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Turing but moved on---and as a result of Leo's decision the studio let go of the rights. Now--Scandinavian director Morten Tyldum will direct.
