Kevin James is set to return as the security guard at a New Jersey mall. The story shifts to Las Vegas, where Paul and his daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) attend a security guard convention. After being constantly mocked by casino security, he helps them bring down a dangerous group of art thieves--led by Neal McDonough.
Alonso will play Divina Martinez, the hotel eneral manager who is completely perplexed when Blart presumes that she's hitting on him. Flustered yet determined to clarify the situation, she reaches out to Blart several times, only to reinforce his original theory.
David Henrie Molly Shannon, Nicholas Turturro and Gary Valentine also star.
James and Nick Bakay, who co-wrote the original, are back to work in the script.
Andy Fickman ("Escape to Witch Mountain," "Parental Guidance") replaces Steve Carr who helmed the original 2009 comedy which became a surprise major hit with a $146 million domestic gross.
James, Todd Garner and Adam Sandler are returning as producers.
Production is set to begin shortly.
