Nicole Kidman has joined the Michael Grandage-directed true story drama "Genius" says The New York Daily News.
Based on the A. Scott Berg award winning biography "Max Perkins: Editor of Genius", the story deals with the real-life tender and complex friendship between literary giant Thomas Wolfe
(Michael Fassbender) and renowned editor Maxwell Perkins (Colin Firth).
Wolfe became famous from a young age for both his talent and
larger-than-life personality. Perkins is one of the most respected
literary editors of all time who discovered talent such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. While most writers struggle with their words, Wolfe had the opposite
problem and butted heads with Perkins who demanded he keep to a tight
word limit. It was a volatile relationship, but one that changed both
their lives.
It's not clear what role Kidman will have in the drama.
John Logan ("Skyfall," "Gladiator") penned the adapted script.
James Bierman is producing the film.
This marks Kidman and Firth's third film together, the biopic The Railway Man and the upcoming thriller "Before I Go To Sleep".
