Chloë Moretz Rides "The 5th Wave"

The Wrap reports that Chloë Grace Moretz has joined the sci-fi feature "The 5th Wave".

Based on author Rick Yancey's novel series, the story follows 16-year-old Cassie (Moretz) as one of the last humans on earth after four devastating waves of alien attacks, and she’s determined to get her baby brother back.

The studio hopes the pic will serve as a potential franchise launcher.

Filmmaker J Blakeson ("The Disappearance Of Alice Creed") will direct using Susannah Grant's adapted script.

Tobey Maguire, Graham King, Tim Headington, Denis O'Sullivan and Matt Plouffe are producing.
