Ryan Reynolds Defends The "Woman In Gold"

Deadline reports that Ryan Reynolds is set to join the biopic "Woman In Gold".


The film follows Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), a Jewish World War II survivor who fought the Austrian government to get back several paintings by artist Gustav Klimt that were pilfered from her family during wartime.

Reynolds will play the attorney who took his case--at one point The Amazing Spider-Man star
Andrew Garfield was lined up to play the role that Ryan now has.

Daniel Brühl.will play Reynolds' adversary.

Simon Curtis is directing from a script written by Alexi Kaye Campbell.

David Thompson and Kris Thykier will produce the film.

Production begins in May.
