Dakota Johnson ("Fifty Shades of Grey") is attached to star in and
executive produce a film adaptation of author Taylor Jenkins Reid's debut novel "Forever, Interrupted" says Deadline.
The story follows Elsie (Johnson), a young woman who elopes after a whirlwind
romance and forges an unlikely relationship with her mother-in-law after
her husband suddenly dies.
No director or scribe has been pegged yet.
Amy Baer and Nathan Kahane are set to produce the film
Joe Drake Johnson, John Middleton and Roy Lee are serving as executive producers.
Baer called the novel “exquisitely written and heart-wrenchingly
honest…And Dakota will be exquisite as Elsie, who has to deal with the
sudden loss of a great love. She is a deeply thoughtful, sensitive and
smart woman and actress.”
The first trailer for "Fifty Shades of Grey" is due in a few weeks. Johnson recently wrapped on Scott Cooper’s “Black Mass” opposite Johnny Depp.
