Guardians Of The Galaxy Goodies

 We are less than a month away from the theatrical release of James Gunn's film adaptation of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy".  The official promo push started in earnest with the release of the teaser trailer...What fallows is a collection of bits that are designed to get you even more excited about the film.

The Guardians of the Galaxy comic book follows a US pilot who ends up in space during a universal conflict, then is forced to go on the run with a band of futuristic alien ex-cons.

Gunn has posted another behind-the-scenes photo from the film via Instagram. It gives us a good look at the prototype of Chris Pratt's Star-Lord mask as the actor was trying it on.



Actor Vin Diesel who provides the voice for Groot in the movie recently posted this update on his Facebook page:

"I have to share this... My youngest who is 3 yrs old, has never been to a movie theater before in his life. Today, I was invited by Disney and Marvel to see the latest cut of Guardians of the Galaxy and I was able to take the angels. WOW!!!!! To Marvel, Disney, the incredible cast and team and especially James Gunn... Thank you for making a GREAT MOVIE! It was amazing and will always be special, for it was the first film I was able to take my family to see and oh how they loved it."

The film has also launched a clever tie-in viral site at GalaxyGetaways.com designed to look like a website for booking holiday trip packages, but actually contains a lot of little bits of information about the film along with a few jokes. This is the  tie-in commercial.



Finally a Spotify playlist is online of the soundtrack's song list which includes the three tunes heard in the various  trailers so far.



The film arrives August 1, 2014.
