Deadline reports that Paul Greengrass is hovering over the the true life tale "The Ballad of Richard Jewell".
A film adaptation of an article in Vanity Fair--the story follows security guard Richard Jewell (Jonah Hill) who reported the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and helped clear bystanders — only to find himself vilified and suspected of being involved in the plot.
Fellow Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio would play Jewell's lawyer who knew him casually. The lawyer guided Jewell through the demoralizing media circus that followed. He cleared Jewell three months later.
Billy Ray, who penned the script for Greengrass' last film "Captain Phillips," wrote the script for this film.
DiCaprio, Hill, Kevin Misher and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce the movie.
