Hollywood And Vine

Stephen Sommers is talking with Warner bros.. to direct a re imagination of Edgar Rice Burroughs classic character in "Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stuart Beattie and Sommers will co-write the script. But not from the original 1914 Burroughs book Tarzan of the Apes or any previous film, rather taking an entirely new approach

Specifics of plot are being kept under the loin cloth though.

Sommers and Beattie are solid at what they do--and the character deserves a good movie. But reimagining what? Tarzan as a fast food worker?

Of course-"Tarzan" has been adapted countless times on screen most recently in a short-lived 2003 TV series with male model Travis Fimmel (pictured) in the title role.

Hoping the new film's better than that...How could it not be?
