Pine will receive the award on April 2 at the exhibition in Las Vegas-some 4 weeks before the film hits theaters.
“ShoWest has a history of recognizing major talents at the very earliest points in their rising careers,” Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event said in a statement.
“Pine’s impressive skills on the screen and stage will be sure to be showcased, with his performance as Captain Kirk, in the much anticipated release of ‘Star Trek.’

Not at all a surprise--A high profile film/role + lots o' buzz is the perfect combo....Still it's a rather fluffy endorsement at this point. Pine may be following the likes of Johnny Depp Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling here...but each one still had earn their chops...This is an Honor that still requires you to prove the committee made the right choice.
