Watch Dog

Will Ferrell is circling the comedy flick "Neighborhood Watch" reports Variety.

The story chronicles a city dweller's journey as he moves to suburbia, joins the neighborhood watch and uncovers a large conspiracy.

Industry newcomer Jared Stern wrote the screenplay.

Director David Dobkin ("Wedding Crashers," "Fred Claus" and the upcoming "The Flash) is in negotiations to call action on this.

Shawn Levy had been eying to helm the project, but will now only produce with his production partner Tom McNulty.

Sounds like a gloss over of the Tom Hank scomedy of The 'burbs from 20 years ago.
