Producer Neil Meron says Hough's success as a country singer should serve her well as the team reaches a decision. It's an expanded part from the 1984 original:
"It's a much more singing-intensive movie for the female lead."
Chace Crawford is set to star in the lead role.
While I don't watch DWTS at all and have never heard her sing...I can't help but say she's a real cutie...If she lands the role...Crawford is one lucky guy.
Kenny Ortega is directing the film.
