Reel Deal

Paramount Pictures and horror label Platinum Dunes have signed a first-look producing pact says Variety

The deal gives the studio first option on future projects from Dunes.

The partnership starts the already announced thriller "The Butcherhouse Chronicles" written by Stephen Susco that's described as "The Breakfast Club in a haunted house".

And there's the thriller "Property of the State"--Howard Franklin's script is about a young white-collar criminal whose attempt to straighten out his life is imperiled by an obsessive and menacing parole officer.

Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will serve as producers on both projects...

Bay says:

We offer a valuable service to the studio, especially with all this turmoil going on in the business right now, in that we do things cheaply, and we’ve had a lot of success with it. Through the first two Transformers films, I’ve gotten to know the studio very well, and I’ve got a good rhythm with them. I’m excited about this"
