“Wolfman” Sequel Gets Straight-to-DVD Release

Shortly after news about a Universal Pictures-released Wolfman sequel broke, we’ve got some more crucial information on it. Michael Tabb will write the script for the supposed Wolfman sequel; Tabb wrote the screenplay for the straight-to-DVD horror flick Ring Around the Rosie, which stars Tom Sizemore.

According to Bloody Disgusting, this one will be heading straight to DVD, similar to how the sequel to Death Race was released. The fact that it won an Oscar obviously means little for its theatrical distribution, as its 2010 predecessor failed to make back its costly $150 million budget even when throwing its international gross into the equation.

To be honest, I’m not sure why this film is getting the sequel treatment. It will make little to no money back for Universal, and unlike Death Race, this one wasn’t even liked by those who saw it. Also, it’s safe to say that Benicio del Toro and Emily Blunt aren’t likely to reprise their roles.

Why bother? Chances are the sequel will suck worse than the theatrical did--and that's saying something Rather watch paint dry -Tom
