"Amazing Spider-Man" Scribe to Pen "Red Riding" for Columbia

It’s all of a sudden becoming a trend to not only rehash and remake already beloved features but to also adapt foreign imports of television series into features and programs. MTV’s doing it with Skins, and now it seems that Columbia wants to do the same with Britain’s Red Riding.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, Jamie Vanderbilt, who penned The Amazing Spider-Man for Marc Webb, will adapt the television miniseries for Columbia and Ridley Scott, who’s currently attached to sit in the director’s seat. The original inspiration for the series – David Pearce’s tetralogy – covers ten years of police corruption and investigations in Britain.

Vanderbilt should feel at home as he penned the script for David Fincher’s crime feature Zodiac.
