Up And Away

After 10 years the Superman TV series Smallville came to an end on Friday May 13rh...

I have to admit when I first heard that there would be a weekly show devoted to Clark becoming the hero we know him to be--I was pretty skeptical as to whether or not it would...erm...umm fly....

Thank goodness those behind the show hired Tom Welling in the lead and then surrounded him with a great supporting cast  John Schneider John Glover, Annette O'Toole Erica Durance Allison Mack Justin Hartley Michael Rosenbaum, Cassidy Freeman Kristin Kreuk Sam Jones III Eric Johnson Laura Vandervoort Callum Blue Sam Witwer and Aaron Ashmore All helping in some way to ensure that Clark follow the path to become earth's greatest protector

A few folks that starred in 1978's Superman found there way to Smallville Terence Stamp as the Voice Of Jor-El played General Zod: Superman himself Christopher Reeve playing Dr Virgil Swan--Providing Clark with info on Krypton in season 2; Margot Kidder playing his associate; Marc McClure played the film's Jimmy Olsen and Kryptonian Dax-Ur And even Helen Slater who played Supergirl in 1984 comes by to play Lara Supes' Kryptonian Mom

The finale, especially the final 10 minutes – took me back to the Superman films, especially the first Richard Donner flick and "Superman Returns," wth Brandon Routh— was really awesome! Giving me the "GIft Of Flight" all over again: Chloe (Mack) reading the comic  I loved the sequence when Jor-El presented Clark with memories from his past was very STM  and saving Lois on a plane that tipped its hat to the BEST rescue in SR Hearing both of John Williams' classic Main Title and Love Theme was a treat since they (probably) won't be used in next year's Man of Steel when Henry Cavill dons the cape and the spandex...
