British filmmaker Ben Wheatley ("Kill List") has plans to keep very busy says Screen Daily.
Not only does he have "Sightseers" in the can for release later this year and the monster thriller "Freakshift" in development, Wheatley will work on yet another film - "A Field in England"
Set during the English Civil War, the story follows a small group of deserters who flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. Captured by two men, one an alchemist, they are forced to help in his search to find a hidden treasure buried somewhere in the field. Crossing a vast circle of mushrooms, the group descends into a chaos of fighting and paranoia. The treasure isn't what they expect and they "become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field".
"Kill List" cast member Michael Smiley, Peter Ferdinando, Reece Shearsmith, Julian Barratt, Richard Glover and Ryan Pope will star.
Amy Jump, who co-wrote Kill List and edited Sightseers, will co-write this with Wheatley as well.
Claire Jones and Andrew Starke will produce the film.
Production kicks off late September.
