Hughes Chronicles "A Bittersweet Life" Redux

Since Motor City was a bust Allen Hughes will turn his attention to directing a remake of Jee-woon Kim's 2005 Korean crime drama "A Bittersweet Life" says Deadline.


The original film follows an enforcer (Byung-hun Lee) charged with escorting the young mistress of the crime boss. He's under orders to kill her and her lover should he discover her having an affair. Instead he beats up the lover and, and is smitten with the mistress, and at odds with his boss.

Anthony Peckham ("Invictus") has been hired to write the latest draft of the adapted script.
