Carano Leads All-Female Version Of "The Expendables"

Former MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano ("Haywire") is attached to star in the Untitled "all-female riff" on "The Expendables" says Variety.

Dutch Southern has come onboard to pen gender switch riff of the star-studded action franchise. Southern previously wrote "Hoof Harrington's Greatest Hits" which made the 2010 Black List

Several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre are already said to be in talks to star.

Among those female action stars on a wish list of potentials Linda Hamilton, Cynthia Rothrock, Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Ann Moss, Michelle Rodriguez,  Uma Thurman, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Yeoh and Summer Glau.

Adi Shankar ("The Grey," "Machine Gun Preacher") will produce the project
