Here's an extended look at Dan Algrant's "Greetings From Tim Buckley" biopic.
The movie will center on the days leading up to singer Jeff Buckley's (Penn Badgley) 1991 performance at his father Tim Buckley's (Ben Rosenfield) tribute concert. "Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. Culminating in a cathartic performance of his father's most famous song, Jeff's debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time."
Imogen Poots plays said woman who meets Jeff and they embark on a four-day journey that changes both their lives.
Buckley Jr. died at the age of 30 in 1997 after he drowned in Tennessee’s Wolf River.
Algrant wrote amd directs.
Patrick Milling Smith, John N. Hart and Fred Zollo produce.
Looks pretty good. I'm impressed with Badgley turn here...Looking forward to the full product.
"Greetings" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival recently
Another--officially sanctioned--Jeff Buckley biopic called "Mystery White Boy" hasn't gone into production yet.
